I was looking at a 3x9 used on the forum. I have no idea what they wanted. In fact I don't think they even had one on display. $600 was a heck of a deal for what you got plus knife!

I bought two at that price, one the year prior as well. There was some sort of freebie with that one as well but I can't remember what it was. It could have been a rebate. Did those HD's ever shoot up in price!

No doubt. I remember the first rapid Z I looked at (RZ800) we're going for $800

The 3-9x40 was the original Conquest, there is no 3-9 HD-5. I can remember the original 3-9x40 Conquests going for $499, which was a real bargain. I still have a Conquest 4.5-14x44 Conquest, as well as six 3-15x42 HD-5 scopes, and a 5-25x50 HD-5, and although the Conquest is a very good scope, the HD-5 is a step up. All of my scopes have the regular Z-plex reticle and lock plex turrets, which are a huge improvement over the target turrets on the original Conquest.
