The grouse don't fly south for the winter. You are good to go. Snow and grouse hunting can be good too.

Some lease road grouse are going to be more skiddish later in the season because half of their flock brood has been shot at or eaten already.

I'm seeing lots when I'm totin' my rifle or bow. They seem to be flushing before I see 'em, more than not. 0 for about 5 throwing rocks at 'em.

Been out a couple of times scouting in 406 and 312. Haven't seen anything.
Might try my luck north of Calgary on Thursday.
Looking forward to seeing some. It's my goal to get one before the season ends. Willing to drive up near Hinton if thats what it takes

Default good to go

Grouse are here year round they dont migrate like other birds, also if you don't see any grouse its just cause they camouflaged to well and you didn't flush em!

Try your luck walking gravel/dirt roads and trails with thick near by brush, they need the gravel to digest food they use rocks to grind food in their gizzard so often times are found right on the road and dont spook till you're close...depending on the WMU im in i will often carry a light .22 cal air pistol (under 500fps) and ive dropped over a half a dozen so far this season with it alone while out for deer and coulda had over a dozen more had i actually had it on me...would also probably work on a rabbit

A freind an I got our limits a couple of days ago.

They get easier to hunt once there is snow on the ground. Much easier to spot. Right now they blend in so well it's easy to walk right by them, if they don't start chirping.

Was not hunting them but seems like they were out to scare the heck out of me jumping out of trees and just about everywhere else. They wait till you just about step on them till they decide to jump out at you

Seen a few the other day. I wasn't going to go out at all this fall, but I might head out this weekend.
