I am going moose hunting north of Smoky Lake (504) just wondering what it is like there for moose population?

Awesome thanks! I will be in the bush on the 25th so I should hit the beginning of the rut hopefully provided it cools down a touch! I will be heading straight north on Mons Lake.

I was there a couple of years ago and had a tough time finding moose. Seen lots of people on quads though. Frustrated me and haven't been back since. Still trying to find a good area.

Seems the cattle push all the wildlife out of the grazing reserve. If you can get on the outskirts of the reserve you should be ok but with it being so close to Edmonton expect others to be thinking the same thing as you. Aswell there will most likely people quading that could wreck your sit. Morning will probably be better then nights do to less people and quads.

Thanks. Looks like I may have my work cut out for me. I may have a bit of hiking to get off "the beaten path".
