On Monday, Kim Robinson told the CBC that every chance he had, he was taking his tracking dogs out into the woods to look for the fugitive in the valleys and mountains around Merritt.
Robinson claimed to know "every nook and cranny" of the forested hills around Merritt, including every cave, of which there are several, and every cabin in the area.
On Monday, he expressed some frustration because he had offered to help the RCMP in their search, and they told him they didn't need him at that point.

How useful were the RCMP in this situation? what i really like is how they post a warning of how he should not be approached as he is dangerous etc.... then state that he had access to a vehicle and is probably out of the area...
Instead a local with a good dollop of common sense figures it out and goes and gets it done after the RCMP refuses his services and turns the suspect in.
No wonder the respect of the RCMP is so low!... 20 years ago they would have went and got their man!....
Today they have to depend on the local redneck to do their job for them....
Ironic isn't it!....
