Default Wilderness Cabin Company, Alberta

We are looking at buying some property out here but Iam a little
tired of constructing the same old spec houses.

I have been searching online for a cabin pre-manufactured company.
I had my eye on Wilderness for a few years now.....they look like neat kits.

We're not looking at something very big, 900 sq/ft with a loft.
The loft is a must!

Does anyone here have any experience with log cabins and or pre-manufactured home companies?

Cant wait to get out of town!

Im eyeing up the whistler.
these are bigger than you wanted, but are 32x32 with a loft of 16x32.
The 2008 price list is about 80,000 for smaller ones up to 125000

roger those look pretty sweet.
Have you priced out a build for the unit?
80-125 sounds like a fairly reasonable price

There are lots of options out there. We have looked at the ones that some of the others have listed and there are some nice choices out there. We have been looking at these lately for our guest cabin:

As far as I know they will do custom options on top of what they have listed. They are located in the Lethbridge area.

They might be smaller than what you are looking for.

I've had three small structures built by Michael at Bavarian Leisure Cottages.
One was a 10 x 14 pump house, one was a 10 x 16 garden/bike shed, and the other was guest 'bunkie'. The bunkie is featured in this website as 'The Moyie'.
Nice product.

the price i was given was budget price for 'parts only' to get it to basic lock up, of course this didnt include mechanicals, electrical, cabinets etc etc.
i can hook you up with our designer (Drew Blomme) in Calgary if you like...i will be modding it to be with logix blocks, triple glaze, stucco and metal roof.
id rather have a small house built extra well (and reduced maintanance)than a large house built to regular standards.
Not that it is the goal, but this design really showcases shoulder mounts as well.

Default Land for these Cottages

Hi Guys,

Where does one find the land on which to build these cottages? I've been trying to find a small backwoods lot close to Crown land for a while and have come up empty.

buying a 160 acre quarter section may be less hassel than an acreage from that same quarter.

I know in Ontario you can buy 500 acres for around 30 000 bucks.
90% of the time they have a nice river flowing through it.
My next purchase will be on the shores of lake superior.

I know that dosnt help you much but just thought Id share whats
available....
