good luck on your quest to fill those tags. it should be nice weather and hopefully you'll be able to get to a good spot with all this snow. i suggest you go out in the afternoon and plan to stay well after dark. seems like the wallies are not very active till near sunset and after.

You can say that again. Went from can't keep them off the hook, to cant make them bite a hook. Definitely won't be buying tags for that lake again...

Default Pigeon

Its about time and location right now. We have been doing well fishing offshore structure. The trail is kinda rough (4x4) only.
We usually head about 2ish drill holes or just redrill the old ones and fish till after dark. Filling tags is easy as there seems to be various age classes around. PM me ,maybe we can hook up this weekend. Or look for a silver Dodge with a yellow beacon on the roof, we will have a nice big fire in our burning barrel. Stop by and say hello.

We were out on Saturday at the provincial park. The fishing was slow but we managed to fill our tags. Jigs and minnows. They didn't seem to prefer jigging over dead sticking. Walleyes were mostly 43 to 50 cm with a few over 50cm.

My tags are 43-50 cm, and where exactly were you from the PP? How far our? Last time I was there we didn't even see a walleye...

We were straight out from the entrance onto the ice in about 16 to 18 feet of water. Put your time in and you will fill those tags. Good luck!

Good weekend. Ended up filling my last tag. The eyes were being picky and biting light. Had a couple gators smash the bait too. Every time I watch them smash the bait on cam it still makes me jump.

Default Food for thought

Try fishing the flats off Mameo, this time of year the walleye cruise the sand flats. They arent so structure oriented during this period.
I run long lines of holes and work them up and then back.
Some days I may drill 50 holes and then bounce around.....
