Default Vortex viper; want some feedback

Anybody have any feedback on a vortex viper 6-24-50? Thinkin of buyin one fer the old moose mangler. Just want to hear some different opinions all the reviews I find are great but I'd like to hear from some people that may have used this scope in 'the real world' aka used it for hunting and not shooting targets. Or should I just buy another leupold???

I bought a new Viper in 4 X 12 X 40 for my Kimber .223. Nice glass, the adjustment ring moves like butter. Field of view is a little less than other scopes. All in all, i am happy with it.

I have both a Viper PST 4-16 and a Viper HS in 2.5-10. Great scopes. Personally I wouldn't mount 6.5-20 on a hunting rifle. 6.5 isn't low enough if you run into something close and 20 is usually unusable in field conditions any ways.

I have a Viper 6.5-20x50, and I love the target turrets, and it is a fantastic scope for the price point. I wouldn't be using it as a hunting scope though. I'll stick with a 3-9 or 4-12 for that.

i've tried vipers, razor, nikon monarch, bushnell 6500, leupold vx 2 and 3

so far,yes the leupold is nice and clear and for an equal price i would get a vx3 instead of a viper.

the quality of the optics is just a bit under leupold vx3

it makes bushnell and nikon look like a pos, its almost comparable to a vx3, lifetime vip warranty. . . . .good deal

dont forget nightforce.
1300 for the benchrest models. . . . . .and you get a nightforce . . . . .
