a few pics from opening day (Sept. 17)i went hunting with my dad for elk and deer and few friends. We were up at 6:45 am on Wednesday for the September 17 opening day elk hunt. Before it was even legal we heard 4 gun shots. Anyways my dads plan was to head to the corner of a cut line to catch the last late bull because there was a big corn field to the side of the cut line. They always cross it of a night and early morning to get into the bush. So as we were walking we heard so crashing so I quickly look and i say BULL to my dad (but now its 8:00am). So we both quickly load our guns. so we ran down to a small cut through to look at the field but see nothing, so jumped the fence and just as i got to the field i see some blood so i tell my dad the elk is hit! It must be the elk the people shot at in the morning. The elk ran in a strip of bush that was only about 60-75 yrds wide. So i went on the field and my dad went on the cutline. So as i was walk and cow calling my dad told me he saw a little black thing come out of the bush about 120yrds so he went down on 1 knee and looked but it was gone and my dad heard crashing so he quickly ran and then at 175yrds and so that it was the bull so he went down again and soon as he shot it went to jump a fence and hit really good and just crashed and went about 10 yrds. It was his first elk and a 5x5 so we were proud. Later that night our friend got a cow elk and 2 days later my dads other friend got a nice 6x6. The land owner got a 3x3 whitetailed buck and i got my first deer ever! it was a muledeer doe and went down with one shot never even moved and inch.
