Default goose numbers down? outdoor canada

Was lookin thru one of my outdoor canada books and it said the central arctic waterfowl numbers will be down in numbers quite abit. They arrived in the arctic to early started nesting then it turned cold and lots of chicks died. Is the central arctic the ones that go thru Alberta or is it more to the east?

So instead of them eating themselves out of house and home in their nesting grounds they are only eating themselves out of home.
Goose numbers from my point of view are still plenty strong, if 1 Million chicks died in the snow goose population it would be compareable to peeing in the ocean.

I don't know much about snow goose populations but the rest of the birds have not been this good for 15 years or so. It was just great so far this year and more birds hit the ground than last year and I thought I would never see another season like last.
