Default Muir/Cardiff

Hit Muir early, early yesterday. Had my float tube on the water for about 2 hrs, one nibble. The other boaters appear to be having the same luck. The odd fish rising but no takers. Weeds near point just below surface, difficult to move thru.
Hit Cardiff late yesterday evening. Fish more cooperative, but not by much. Landed 1 while my buddy had 2. Very crowded with numerous people fishing from shore and 4 boats and a flotilla of 4 kayaks on the water.

Slow down south as well. Had a just decent day in the Cypress Hills Thursday and then Friday managed 2 fish in 5 hrs of tryin' at Police. Time to switch to streams for a couple months.

I was on Muir at 6am and left without even a tug, but tons of fish were jumping. Strange day, I had six to the net two weeks ago. I used every chironomid and leech pattern I had with me.

The one plus was seeing a 18-20" rainbow at the dock and she was thick. Next time.

Did that too, I forgot to mention. I've slayed out there before with a size 14 boatman with this massive yellow underside my friend ties, but it failed me too. They're getting wise to our ways out there.

This might sound weird but near evening at Cardiff I tried a small poper rig on my fly line. It worked rather well I was very surprised. Other fisherman around me were frustrated as I was the only one catching fish.

Probably something new to the fish it definitely worked for me.
