Question general trapping question

I'm thinkin of getting my resident trapping license. Ideally I'd like to trap on a grazing lease I know of. I know that I'd need a permission form from the grazing lease holder. My question is, how would I know if there's a registered trapline already in the area? Could I get into trouble by trapping on the registered line, unknowingly, even though I have permission from the owner? Or am I worrying about nothing because there are no registered lines on grazing leases? Also, how can I find out where trapping lines are located so I know where to stay clear of? Thanks for any input you guys might be able to give me.

Duck.

You can get a map of any local registered lines from F&W.

If the grazing lease is on crown land, you would have to apply for permission through F&W, not through the lease holder, I would think.
In which case, F&W would check each quarter to see if it's on a registered line.

Privately held land within the boundaries of a registered trap line are not considered to be part of that registered trap line.

In either case, you have to obtain written permission on each quarter you wish to trap. The forms F&W provide are set up for this. They have spaces for the legal land description. Those must be filled out.
