Rock Island Lake - Any Good in Winter?

Heading out fishing on Boxing Day with the boy and some buddies. We are thinking of fishing The Narrows at Slave on the 26th, grab a hotel in Slave, and then head to Rock Island the next day. None of us have ever fished it in the winter.

Any thoughts on how the fishing may be are appreciated.

Netted hard by the locals, but there are still some nice ones to be had. & Dont venture to far from your vehicle if you'd like to have it in the same condition to drive home as it was when you got there, vandalism and theft is quite rampant at Rock lake.
