But since they weren't on the poll I voted lever, like Cyclops I'm partial to the Browning BLR and hope to make one of them in .308 my next rifle.

There are 2 types of rifle that always catch my eye:
1. A well blued, dark walnut lever action. Though my hunting rifle of choice is a Savage 99 in .308, I'd have to say the tube fed Win 94 is the single most attractive gun ever. Form, function and history.
2. A heavy barreled long range bolt action with a laminate stock. I know they're really just fancy plastic but the wood grain effects that those stocks achieve really catch my eye. Along with the heavy barrel i think they are the best "new" rifle developments. When I see a solid, heavy bolt rifle, i think of shooting sub MOA all day pain free. Wouldn't hunt with one but for every elk i drop i punch at least 100 paper holes.
... And finally I like to see non-sporterised Mausers too.

They were on the poll, called other.
For kits, forget it in Canada, but in the US try Track of the wolf, http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Index.aspx You can get any and all parts. The few available kits here are not so good for the price. You are better off buying a factory finished for a hundred bucks more.
These guys have factory kits and ship up here. http://thegunworks.com/

I voted double rifle, but a nicely configured bolt rifle is a close second. CZ'z new 557 is an eye pleaser (see pic), but would look even better with a clean barrel. I'm pretty partial to Model 70 Featherweights as well.

Look through and find something you like. Go into the details section and under kit version, if there is a part number listed, it's available as a kit. Under the distributors, they have a Canadian listing. I felt that loyalist firearms out of NS was pleasant to deal with, if a tad slow. About a business day between email responses.
