Why does the mail have to know what you are shipping.
How could they enforce it if you do not declare the contents?

So with that logic I could bring a Snow Leopard back in my carry on with Air Canada as long as i don't declare it???

I can also drive 160 kmph as long as I don't get caught...lol

I have checked the Canada Post website and it specifically says no ammo, listed it as a Class 1 dangerous good.

What I am trying to find out is if its legal to ship ammo by other means, have sent a few emails but no one is at work today

Default Ammo

To be legal, it would have to go by courier, with dangerous goods placard,
quite expensive proposition.

Lots of people ship by mail, but there are Federal regulations, against this practice. If something should happen as a result of your illegal package, you could be in deep Doo Doo

I used Canpar to ship 5lbs of ammunition from BC to Alberta. First I called and they told me that it does not count as a dangerous good. Just pack it with bubble wrap and it is good to go. I used their pick up on demand service. All you have to do is place your order and pay, print off the package slip, put it on the package and they pick it up to deliver it whenever you schedule it for. They have tracking. Not a single problem for me shipping ammo.
