I will back both Canadian teams.

It sucks that my team isn't in it. But watching playoff hockey with no team to root for is even worse.

I still got one last hurrah though. Coming up to Edmonton and will be watching the game with large group of people. Family in town for a wedding, should be a good showing of flames fans vs Oilers fans.

Looks like Dallas isn't going to make it either, after losing 6 straight. I don't get what the Flames are doing though. At surface, it appears they've given up. If you've given up though, how do you hold Anaheim to 16 shots.

All of them.
Fact is this. He is one of the best GTs in the league. He was our MVP for the first 3/4 of the season.
He covered up for so many mistakes and miscues.

Love the guy.
We also miss MT...
It won't be long and he will be captain of this team.

If this is the case, the phlegms are just a terrible team then.
With one of the best in net, you could be an average team and still make the playoffs easily. That did not happen.

Better is a relative term. As bad as the Oilers have been this year, in the last 10 the Flames have been way worse.

Oilers 6-3-1 33 goals for 23 goals against

Flames 3-6-1 20 goals for 34 against

Oh yeah. 2 wins and 5 Bettman loser points better after 75 games vs the Oilers 74. Huuuuge margin of betterness.

No first or second round draft pick this year to show for "going for it."

Calgary's biggest problem is that they've always measured their success against that of the Oilers. "Yeah our team is way better. We finished out of the playoffs BUT....we finished above Edmonton so it's all good.".... "Sure we missed the playoffs 7 years in row but Edmonton missed for 10"...."Yeah we stink but Edmonton stinks more".....

Let’s put it into perspective. If the oilers and flames played each other for the whole season, the oilers would have 120 points right now. How do you find out who’s a better team? Why make them play each other of course!!!

They have obviously quit playing for the coach as they are just going through the motions in San Jose. Stick throwing and having a verbal melt down in front of your players can only get you so far. So for the management of the Flames will a new coach solve their problems, or is it time to start shuffling the deck and bring in some new players.

I agree. But our management has not really been know for blockbuster trades. I still don't understand how we can get so many shots and not score a goal. You can only use the "the other goaltender was hot tonight" excuse so many times.

If the Oilers and up with more points than the Flames...
