Twelve year olds first deer ever
This deer took me and my dad 14 nights to get. The fourteenth night was the night of my lifetime. Bucky came out of the bush standing nice and broadside about 60 yards away with the wind in our face. I grabbed the 243 Savage and rested it on a branch and pulled the trigger. The shot that I had taken was a clean shot and my dad told me that I made a clean shot. At that moment I was shocked and super excited. It walked towards the bush and collapsed only 10 feet in. There he was laying on the ground with the antlers faced directly toward my eyes. This was one of those nights that you will never forget. Pictures to follow. Big thanks to blgoodbrand1 for posting pics. for us!
During the hunting season my dad had rattled in several different bucks, but this deer was the biggest. There was also a cow moose, with her 1 calf that were only 30 yards away from us, but unfortunately I didn't have a moose tag. Every night that me and my dad were hunting thee was plenty of wildlife to entertain us, so it was never a boring night. This was a very eventful hunting season!👍

What a great buck for your first! Looks like he's fought a few battles over the years.

Ya that deers gonna cost Dad(me) a few bucks. Oh well it's all good. That wasn't even the buck we were after. We were after a real clean typical 5x5 we had seen a few times. Hard getting a 12 year olds nerves under control sometimes before the deer is gone. Happened twice where the deer didn't stick around. With this buck my son was totally cool and made a perfect shot. Sometimes it's just meant to be

Mine neither. I’d say there is more bone on those two brow tines then what my first deer had in total.
Congrats to the OP and his son. It doesn’t get much better than that!

That is Way too big for a first deer.
No way in heck I would let any kid shoot it.
Get out of my way Jr.!
