Default Trout Fishing In Calgary

Honestly I am done with the Glenmore reservoir and I don't want to drive 2 hours for a trout but I was wondering if there is any reel trout fun in Calgary that I could go and catch some trout. any tips on what to use would be great and I am a spin fisherman. also if the could be decent size that would be a bonus

unfortunately when people talk about how great the Bow is, they don't mention that it is basically catch and release...that was a real disappointment to me.

It's a pretty big reason that it is so great. Can you imagine if it wasn't with it running thru a city of a million people?

Directions? Go to Calgary. The river splits the city in half. As for what to use, minnow patterns. Rapalas can be deadly. Float a prince or Hares ear nymph under a bobber.

of course. i was subtly hinting at something else though...heritage of sustenance vs sport. some fisheries that would be unsustainable with too much catch and keep use a tag system. anyway, i digress no more.

good luck to the original poster.
