Rural Healthcare instead of OH&S
If the NDP really wants to keep rural people alive why not spend the money on rural healthcare? This new OH&S scheme is nothing but a way to tax, regulate and ultimately destroy family farms. If the government really wanted to keep rural people alive they would help keep doctors and hospitals open in rural areas. When it takes 2hours for a For a kid that fell down the stairs to get to a hospital that's not acceptable. A much higher percentage of rural people die than urbanites. Many others that aren't involved in farming also live in small rural communities with little/no healthcare. Improving their access to healthcare would benefit far more than any new OH&S laws ever will.
Or maybe these new laws are really only about control, not about helping rural citizens.
