I am also working on creating a base map for Garmin units. I hate the idea of having to pay $150 for backroad maps to have public data. Any how when I have it complete I will post it here as well.
Let me know if there are any errors or additional details that may need to be added.

If you wanted to plug this into a Garmin you could use GPSbuddy. I think it would work. You can download this as a map layer and it will show up in your handheld. I'll give it a go let you know how i make out.

Google Maps - no labels for Rng/Twp roads?
Has anyone noticed that Range and Township rd labels are now absent on google maps? Very annoying!

This is great. How do you guys think this compares to the paid options like iHunter Alberta (iPhone/Android). I am not sure if I should just pay the $5 for the app and not have to fuss with any setup...? Advice?

Absolutely epic tool! fantastic work! I just spend 2 hours cruising around this thing.
The community owes you a huge thanks! You have given us a tool that the entire collective power of AESRD can't (won't) put together.

I'm not sure if anyone had mentioned it or not but there is an app for ios and Android called ihunter that has all this and much much more including direct access to the regs etc.
I don't mean to take away from the hard work that's been done.. It may not be for everyone but it's my goto for pinpointing my location, recording sightings etc.
(I'll point out I use this on my pc with google earth and it's awesome, thank you for your work)
