Default Bringing Fish back from the US / Montana: HELP!

I'm going with some friends to Craig, Montana for fly fishing. Talking to the tackle shops and reading the regs, its NO Limit on Walleye. They really have a hate on for the Walleye as this the main predator for the trout, and are out of control. So, I thought I would try and help out!

I know a number of people have done Cascade Lake and brought back fish, but I do not see what steps you take at the border coming back home?

Can anyone give me a run down on what to do and what I can expect from Canada Customs? Are there forms to fill out beforehand to speed up the process?

I didn't have to fill anything out on my way back from Devils Lake, ND on three occasions.

I asked at the border and they told me can bring back whatever the legal limit was at the water you were fishing. I’m going across this weekend again so I will double check

I fish on the Blackfeet reservation in Montana year round. I have never been asked at the Alberta border for for a total, species caught or anything about the fish. Cross at 3 different border crossings depending on time and which lakes i'm coming from.

Generally if there is no limit on a stretch of river there isn’t very many of that fish in the river. Point in case the upper gallatin has no limit on pike but I have yet to talk to or hear of anyone who caught a pike in that body of water....
