Default Anyone Hunt Turkeys in Montana?

Looking to hunt Merriam Turkeys in Montana next spring, has anyone had a great experience with a guide? I can travel anywhere, but leaning towards heading the Eureka area. Thanks!

Why use a guide? There’s plenty of turkeys and plenty of public land with turkeys in Montana. The best is probably the south east corner of the state so a considerable drive... mineral county west of Missoula has good turkeys as well. Depending on the area of the state you may be able to harvest more than one in a given area. I think the total possible limit if you got a tag in each area plus drew the special tags is 12 birds. Not all toms though.

Hunt the eureka area, maybe south of there a little bit to get away from the rest of the Canadians that go down for the hunt. You’ll likely have better luck getting permission the farther from the border you get. We have land down there and the turkeys are super thick between eureka and whitefish. Most people are good ole country folks and if you’re respectful, will let you go on.
