I was on the fence a few years ago too, and I thought that since I'm at the shooting range with a restricted pistol already, having a restricted rifle to use if the pistol bays are busy was a good idea. Turned out it was a good idea, my AR is one of the funnest rifles I own, and I haven't even tried anything like 3 gun yet.

Side note.... you'll love that new CZ of yours.

Went into sportsmans den to look at possibly purchasing something and couldn't get a look at much with people leaning over the counter just BSing to the guy. Even went back in the room another couple times. I'm all for being social but I was there for business. I could have pushed for some service but I wasn't really supposed to be there. Snuck out of work to pick something up for the boss's bday present. Even if theres no ban, I want to buy something!! Lol

In keeping with the thread:

Colt M-4 Accurized Law Enforcement Model:

And of course an "extra" AR-15 Complete Lower.

And of course a full stable of Colt 1911's, Big Frame Rugers etc already on hand.

Happy Happy Happy La!

If you're on the fence, just buy a stripped lower for anywhere from around $100 to $300 and you'll have one registered to you, its the cheapest way to ensure you're covered if anything becomes re-classified and 'grandfathered'.

Wolverine in red deer didn't have any lowers. Crappy thing about living out of town is not being able to conveniently run into the bigger stores

Sounds like stripped lowers are mostly sold out at most places right now anyway.

Maybe they decided it was bad timing right now to further restrict our freedoms given all of the d-day stuff going on at the moment.

People might start drawing connections to them buying the media, directing the media funds distribution through a committee with a hard leftist, openly conservative-hating union leader appointed to it while they simultaneously strive to ban firearms? Why there's nothing suspicious about that whatsoever. Hey look, over there, its a climate emergency!!

Default My c71 was 4 years ago....seen it coming!

October 20/2015......morning after Federal election I needed some cheering up.
Went to my local Can Tire bought a Supergrade Tula SKS and 1500rd crate of amoo while I still could.

I hope AR-15s dont get banned and for that matter all semi-auto rifles are on the potential chopping block for C-71.. I could care less about AR-15s but I love my pistol non-restricted pistol caliber carbines.

I did get a little collection of handguns going when news of this came out, again hopefully if these get probited/banned/whatevers in the works I get to keep them:
-Uberti 357mag Revolver
-Norinco 9mm 1911
-Browning Buckmark 22lr Blacklabel.. she is nice and tacticool and purdy

I made sure the boy and I were pretty well set up a while ago too.
But last night we went to a cowboy action shoot and they let the boy shoot some of their revolvers ..... so now he thinks he needs a couple of those too.

Wife "Did you buy some more guns?"
Me "They are for the boy, not me"
Seems to work.....

The ar-15 is mostly chambered in a girls caliber so there is no real reason to ban them, it's just sexist.

Nice! Did something similar myself. Always wanted to get an AR. Picked up a complete for myself, and a finished lower for the wife. Mine's a Ruger AR-556, and she has a good base for a Stag build. Also picked up a short shotgun.

Hmmph! Couldn't put an AR pic in there. Must have just overloaded the system with all the scary black-ness of the gun.

It's a Browning 1911-22 22 LR 85% size of a 1911. It's perfect for him. He does shoot a CZ75 in 9mm a bit.

He is 9 but only 60 lb so it looks like a full size 1911 on him . He has been shooting the 1911-22 for a little over a year. Pic is from Wednesday which was his first day with a holster. He did good and he had a great time. So did I, an evening I will never forget.

Here's the AR. This time I tried to get my all purpose sxs in there, and it didn't work.

Took the flip up sight off to try it with a scope I had lying around. Probably have to either remove the front sight or mount something higher. Or just go back to the peep.

My purchase was a $20 donation to the Conservative party of Canada. Let’s hope C-71 gets squashed like krizelda the witch.

Haven't seen any mention of the SKS . . . Odds-on favourite, IMO.

Better picture of a backpacker in its natural habitat. Nice to have a handy gun for occasions like this. Just a few yards away, I once found a rear grizzly track, that a size 12 Dunlop work boot would disappear in.

I'd rather have the double, loaded heavy, or better yet, the 45-70, but fortunately they usually get lost pretty quick. The shorty is still comforting.

My C-71 deal from Cabelas clearing out their scary black guns, I even got them to price match themselves as it went down an additional $50 only 36 hours after I bought it but before I picked it up. I was impressed that it came with a 2-point QD sling and a couple of keymod accessories such as a handstop and an additional keymod QD point to mount where I want. It has integral QD points, one behind the pistol grip and another in the folding & telescoping stock. It breaks down exactly like an AR-15 with the push pins and had ambidextrous controls, though the ambi safety on the right does get a bit in the way of your trigger finger.
