Don’t know if I can, trying to save enough to put the down payment on a house in the new year, even my plans for a ruger no 1 are on hold.

Granted I’ve only owned it a year, it’s definitly surpassed my expectations.
I've read that to and seen it on YouTube.

Recycle.

I’ve been buying and selling guns and bows for a long time, usually adding a couple hundred here and there. It’s taken a while but now it’s hard for my wife to say no if I’m only throwing in a couple hundred bucks. It helps if she thinks the gun looks “pretty”, lol.

I’m not sure what cartridge to buy, all my components are 6.5, 6.8, and 7mm so any one of those calibers would do the trick. Ideally I’d like something for long range work, I know there are a pile of cartridges that’ll work, I sold off my 270 wsm’s so now I’m left with about 100 Taylor loaded 150 Bergerac, 50 factory loaded 150gr ABLR’s and about 150 cases on top of that, not to mention about 300 Nosler 150gr ABLR’s still in the box. Common sense says buy a 270 wsm but I’m convinced I need a 6.5 or 7mm though.

Have you looked at Fierce Kurt? Can get the carbon Fiber barrel with a thumb hole stock. I ended up having to use a buddy’s in Kyrgyzstan because of issues with my rifle. Man it just felt right and they shoot well. Only stock I ever tried with a thumb hole seemed to help with steadiness off the bipod

I’ve only got about $3200, maybe $3400 to spend on this one, that’ll include brass and dies. I think the fierce is a bit out of range right now. I’d like to look into a Christensen Arms Summit, those are running at 5.5lbs, but they’re also over $7k.

Lol. I’m glad I wasn’t shooting anything bigger, I might have an empty freezer.

Coyote count? 200 yards further then 100 yards moose and quite a bit smaller. Didnt even wave his tail in surrender. Pretty impressive but ive got a ways to go before i have to worry about my rifle going from moa to mom. Been a great year for work but not so great for hunting.

I’m not really a Sako fan, or a fan of wooden gun stocks. I think wood is nice to look at but it gets beat up too easily. Stainless synthetic, or in this case carbon fiber is what I’m more interested in.

I’m really impressed with my Ridgeline, the only thing I’d change is the narrow grip. I’m going to look at a Classic with the Monte Carlo stock, see if that feels any better. As far as I’m aware of, it’s the same barrel and the only difference in the action is the Classic has intergrated scope mounts.

Kurt if your just wanting a long range target rifle, if it were my money I would be getting a heavy barrel rifle. I hate shooting 3 shots then sitting waiting for them to cool. My 6.5-284 has a 30” #17 heavy varmint barrel and I can shoot a 10 shot string and the barrel is Luke warm. My 7LRM has a 31” plus brake #17 heavy varmint and it’s a pleasure to shoot. If you want a long range hunting rifle personally I wouldn’t go any lighter than about a #4 contour.

That’s the beauty part about the carbon barrels, they perform like a heavy barrel on the bench. I’m not sure how many shots it takes to get them hot because I’ve never done it. When it gets warm, by the time I walk to the target and back it’s cooled off.

After looking at a 6.5 PRC, it didn’t have a big enough size difference over the 6.5 Creedmoor to turn my crank. The 28 Nosler cartridge would be a noticeable increase in performance but I didn’t like the paint job on the stock. The 300wsm had a nice paint job but it had two sling studs up front. The new green stocks available look gay with all the different colored webbing I thought, it was a different green with a glossy finish too. After spending nearly 2 hours in the store going over every one they had in stock I settled on the nicest looking one they had in drab green and went with it. Went a little over my budget, but like the saying goes, something about crying once.....

I have yet to handle a carbon barreled rifle that I like the balance of, they all feel too light in the muzzle for me, and muzzle rise is more than I like. I have handled them after firing, and they seem to cool very quickly, but I wonder how hot the thin steel barrel liner gets while shooting ,that will be a major factor in throat erosion.

You need to try one with a 26” barrel I guess. They aren’t ultralights, they are just light for the size of barrel they have. It’s like an ultralight target rifle I suppose. The guy at the shop said the 28’s aren’t burning out barrels yet, so that’s a good sign.

That's my thoughts as well. Sure the carbon fibre isn't warm but what about what's going on inside it.

Be curious to see if it actually dissipates the heat any quicker, or you just don't know how hot the barrel actually is

That's what the guy at the gun store said. It's pretty easy to ruin the barrel if you're not paying attention and shoot a box of shells without a smoke break.
