Default 30 WCF and 30-30

I was fortunate enough to inherit my great uncles 1946 Model 94 Winchester in 30-30. Other than the rifle looking brand new the barrel is stamped 30 WCF which means Winchester Centre Fire. The story on a thread I read is that it was Marlin who started using 30-30 as the term and not Winchester. Is this true?
With it is a box of shells looking pretty 50's. CIL which is Canadian Industries Limited- Dominion- 30-30 - 170 gr KKSP. What is the KKSP? I remember Dominion as a kid and the name changed to Imperial into the 70's and then faded away.

Kling
Kore
Soft
Point

It’s a cup and core bullet with staking imprints in the later third of the bullet nearest the base, the staking was a means of locking the jacket and core together.

From what I have read and understand it was not Marlin but UMC and the Domion Cartridge Company that started labeling the 30WCF as the 30/30.
This could have been fir numerous reasons, nit the least of which was the fact that people do not adjust well to new things and Smokeless powder at the time was not
That popular, so designating it like the old BP cartridges
(.30 , 30 grains of powder ) using smokeless instead of black would have eased some suspicious minds .

Winchester called their version the 30WCF right up until after WW2. Marlin's ammunition affiliate UMC named their smokeless version the 30-30 as far back as 1895. Popular thing to do back then was to show the calibre first following with the powder grains. 32-40, 38-55, 45-70.
