Default Chorus entertainment Censorship

Have a look at this one, They say it just to combat piracy... but like banning certain weapons, where will it stop?

Why is CBC involved? There content is already paid for by tax payers.

I would be all for this if it wasn't being driven by US Trade Groups that have a big history of screwing consumers. And then where does it end? Does someone then decide because Netflix doesn't give enough back to Canada (taxes, programming, local jobs, etc) we're going to block them too?

Bit of a slippery slope if you ask me.

Yes.

Who decides what information should be restricted?

I'm torn, but net neutrality gets my vote over censorship.

This is not movie producers trying to stop people from pirating movies. This is and ISP provider telling you what websites you are allowed to view.

It also means that they say which website is "illegal" and only then can it be challenged in court... which is the exact opposite of "innocent until proven guilty"

I feel the same way. It seems to me that the ISP companies just want to find a new way to get a piece of the pie

Absolutely.

This is just the thin edge of the wedge.
