Default Glacier National Park Montana

I am heading down to Glacier NP Montana next week (lake mcdonald) and would be grateful for any advice on mcdonald itself and any surrounding lakes (hike in up to 5km only please, I'm not the only one going). I will probably be bringing fly gear only, 4wt travel rod and 6wt. No boat

Thanks

I few years ago my brother and I hiked into Medicine Grizzly Lake on the east side of the park. You almost had to turn around to bait your hook. A fish on almost every cast and we were the only ones there. Its about a hour and half hike if I remember right. There is a camping spot you can use and then hike in.

if you cant catch em form shore on that lake, then give up. they are quite cooperative. i camped at apgar campground. it was just a short walk to where the river met the lake. i couldnt catch one there....but geez louise there were some big boys easily seen lazing in the current. i was chucking spinners and although i got lots of smaller fish in the lake, those big ones werent interested.
