Default wab 41inch pike

Headed out with the family today. Wow what a nice day. Didn't head out till noon, but that didn't bother the pikes feeding. they were on FIRE today. My mother in law had a blast. catching the biggest pike of her life, 41inch ALBERTA beast. I landed a modest 39inch, lol. 3hrs of fishing, ran out of 20 pieces of bait and over 20 fish. My legs are killing me. And i love it. hahaha. Hear are some pics, enjoy.

Great pics, thanks for posting. Love the first pic. Your daughter looks very comfortable with the big jack. Your dog, not so much.

Hey fishinggeek, were you the one in the Dodge Ram? I was out there also and caught a 35 and 36 inch pike along with a handful of whitefish and some 6-7 pike. It was a very nice day out there.

WOW..... nice pics everyone... makes the monday in the office
go faster seeing the great weekend everyone had.

I assume the 41" was at the townsite at the end of the pier ??

Thinkin of playing Hookie from work on Wed. and going out
fishing and smokin little cigars...

Looks like Wab. may be a good choice.
Not sure it the townsite or Fallis is my best bet.

Anyone got an opition ???

I guess you all want to know the HOT spot. lol. actually i just drove down fallis and went next to all the other folk that were fishing, lol. was like 10 other vehicals out. didn't seem to matter were ive been fishing this year at wab, the fish seem to follow. Most of the action was comming from our flags in shallow 16-18ft, but we landed the one 41inch in the furthest out hole at about 22-24ft, and only the one big one was caught out deep. the pike should be headed in a bit shallower soon. hope this helps.

i was out there today and had some decent success one just under 13 another 12 one just under 11 and one roughly 8 wasnt big enough for me to be concerned with also i had one inhale my 24 inch leader and a foot of my tip up line i assume it was a big beast but u know how the one that got away goes and i was in DEEP water the smaller one was in around 20 fow the 10+ were all in almost 30 fow along with the mystery fish which believe could have been the in the same size range as your but just cause i believe it doesnt make it true hehe ill be back out again and try my luck as well i have pics but cant seem to find my usb cable ......... met another ao member there also `theolfella` i believe he said his handle was they also had luck they were in shallower but caught some but they were all under 10 i spent the day with him and his grandson i believe there was a MESS of FAT pike there i thought they would be shallower but it seems they are late this year

Well i dont want to start another thread for a 41 inch pike so ill continue this one with another monster. I couldn't help myself from last sunday and wanted another hog, took off early from work today (wed)and took the wife and kid. Met another member out there (alodar) i think, was fishing near the spot we were on sunday. Well alodar, as you were walking away from saying by you missed the big girl, litteraly dropped my smelt back down from the missed hit that you came and saw and she hammered it again. Here she is. looks like almost 41inch again from the pic. only a matter of time for that 40lber. lol. My little girl cant get enough of fishing. Ive created a true fishinggeek daughter, lol.

great picture with your daughter. bet her mom was happy with you slimming up her snow suit! classic times. you guys have had some great northern fishing at Wab this year. you say you were drowning smelts. i used to have real good success with herring there over anything else. keep slaying them and making memories for your daughter.
