Default Barnes .243 Bullet - Advice Wanted

Hey all, looking at trying a new bullet for my .243. Would like some input on which would be preferred between Barnes TSX 6mm 85 grain, or Barnes 6MM 80 TTSX. Basically, which would work better or be preferred to use, tipped or non tipped bullet? Most of everything i use is tipped currently, but the BC between these two are so similar, wondering if anybody has any input. Primarily going to be used for coyotes and such, but also to let my son try at a deer.

Personally I use the 80gr ttsx. Shot a ton of coyotes and several deer. Performance has always been great.

Between the two I would pick whichever is best stocked at the local gun shop. There is little to no difference between the two listed for hunting applications.

Hello,

I think the difference between the 2 would be minimal. The tipped bullet may expand a bit quicker on thin skinned game like coyotes and may have a bit more velocity. Both are excellent deer bullets - I have shot deer with both! Those little pills are far deadlier than they seem!

Maybe choose the one thats more accurate if you try both.

Cheers
Max

Default Ttsx

I am currently shooting the 80gr. TTSX for deer, out of my T3. I am also shooting the 62 gr. Varmint Grenade for Yo-Dogs. I don't have to change the scope out to 300 yards, the wind does push the VG around a bit more, but if you reload you get the best of both worlds, TTSX will blow thru Yo-dogs, if you shoot them closer than 200 yards.

Out on a limb here, but a coyote comes to mind.

Either would work fine. My two daughters have shot at least 10 WT and MD with the 85gr TSX. Amazing what that cartridge can do with that bullet.

I thought Yo-Dog is what Judge Randy Jackson used to call contestants on American Idol.

It certainly conjures up that inner city, image.
