Default Trophy Bonded Bear Claw

Was looking at different ammo to try in my new 338 win mag Xbolt.... and noticed the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw federal ammunition.. has nickle plated case....and the actual bullet.

What does the nickle.plated bullet do in terms of fouling?

I'm assuming the nickle plated case is for better feeding?

It ias all about appearances. There is not functional benefit to nickel plating and for reloading I find the nickel brass a pain in the butt. I would stay away from it unless you are just shooting factory, then it is fine cause it looks pretty. The Trophy Bonded is a good hunting bullet.

If anything, the nickel plating may add corrosion resistance, but basically, it makes them shiny, and people are willing to pay more for them.

No benefit to the nickel, but a good bullet to use for sure. I've had good results with the .300 WM 180 gr on a couple critters. No better than Nosler partitions or TSX, but hey! they work great.

ABB, Dean and Elk have completely missed the boat. Nickel plating gives you shiny silver bullets, which then makes you feel like the Lone Ranger. If you feel good then you shoot good. It's simple when you think about it.

Has anyone noticed any splattered nickle inside the case necks as a result of the plating process?

Did a quick google and nickel brass is supposed to feed better and corrosion resistant but not great for reloading.

Exactly, the nickel coating makes the brass itself thinner, and I have found the nickel plated ammo has much shorter reload life XXspan, also pressure values seem different in any .338 Win and 7mmRem or .270 Win I have reloaded with this stuff,,,,
Pretty much junk in my opinion, I will reload it once, but then it's in the garbage can ,,,

People seem to like nickel or hate em, no real inbetween. I like the nickel cases but never reloaded any.
A few I've read had concerns about the nickel plated bullets leaving deposits/flakes in the bore that might be hard to clean out? Something to think about.
I've shot a few moose with the 160tbbc 7mm and really like the bullets, have some 150 7mm and 140 6.5 to reload. The TBT is the new improved version.
That bullet should be a hammer in a 33, along with the aframe.
