S&W 1500 same action as a Weatherby Vanguard....Actually they are a Howa action.

Are the stocks the same, I dunno.... then there's the always the grind to fit option.

If necessary to go to a grind to fit pad, I always prefer grinding a Pachmayer over a Sims. The Pachmayers are not only easier to grind but turn out nicer.

Not familiar with pachmayer or Simms. I assume these are recoil pads? Grid to fit work out ok? Thanks guys.

I much prefer the Decellerator over the Limbsaver.

Pachmayer is the standard that all other recoil pads are compared to.(Decellerator is their best)
Simms(Kickeze) is another recoil pad brand.

And I concur that the Pachmeyer pads are far nicer to grind to fit(that means you fit the pad to your stock, or ask a gunsmith to.)

As dick284 mentioned, Pachmayer is my favourite not only because it grinds nicely, but has a nicer finish and does the job of recoil absorption. Simms Laboratories makes the Limsaver. Limbsavers are very "spongy" and they do work well for recoil absortion. But, they are touchy to grind on a finished stock. The soft spongy rubber wants to drag itself into the power band. And, the finish isn't as smooth as I prefer. The instructions are that they can be put in the freezer prior to grinding. Tried it, it doesn't work as they remain just as soft. Which is a good thing from a shooter's perspective as you wouldn't want them to harden on a cold day's hunt.
