Default ****Shed Thread 2019****

It's that time of year to get the thread up and going for another season. Any sheds yet? Found this matched set in May!

Usually by this time of year I have found a few small little sheds in our bales. So far nothing.

Default She’d thread

Saw a nice sized muley the other day with only one horn. Looked like he had dropped one, and hadn’t broken it off.

Got this one yesterday while out grouse hunting but it's one of last year's (the squirrels had chewed it up a bit). And bagged our limit of ruffies, too!

Exactly! I've been looking for a fresh one so I could start a thread, only found one old one so far.

Either way, nice to see this thread, love these ones.

First one for me

First time out as well. Checked a feeding area. Stayed well away from the bush that they bed in.

In Calgary and area, the snow is pretty patchy. Most of it that remains is on North- and East-facing slopes or in dense woods or creek bottoms.

I’ll be ripping around on the quad this weekend looking for them! Hopefully I can have some luck and post back.

My dog & I are going to be out for grouse tomorrow. If we kick up some sheds that'll be a bonus.

Took my Son and dog out to try and find a fresh brown or two this afternoon. Dog found this one. Think it’s his 5th or 6th wild one now. I love the fact he knows what I’m bidding him to do but it really buggers a guy for the ATL pics.

He found this and brought it back to the house all of his own accord a couple weeks ago too.

Heres a special one. I have this buck on cam for 4 yrs, he peaked in 2016. This shed was found in late November of the last hunting season. I have a lot of days and miles into that buck. I did find other side last spring. He regressed into an old typical that would be about 150 class after last years brutal winter. Spring photos showed he was very thin. Energy went into rebuilding the body and the antlers reflect that. Have never seen him with my own eyes. Only have the set from 2017 that he would have dropped in 2018. Only seen the drop tin poking outbof the snow, i grabbed it and ruined the as it lay shot. No I am not putting it in last yrs thread.

Made it out yesterday and today. Picked up one yesterday at a regular spot. Today I went for a drive on the way home from fishing and found a decent field. Spotted one from the road with the binos so went and knocked on the door. To the lady that answered and said yes go ahead, if you’re reading this thanks again lol. Anyway ended up with nine in a couple hours. I took ATL’s of all of them but figured I’d just post them all together.

Default Shed thread

Went for a drive last evening. Saw over 100 white tails, and not one had antlers. Time to start putting some miles on my boots it seems.
