Bb 2018
Not much for bear pics this year so I thought I would post mine up.
Was out picking fiddleheads and right at noon o’clock we spotted this bear. Short stalk and 1 round out of the Rem 7 300wsm and the knives were put to work. Beautiful coat and amazing colours, tube skinned for a wall hanger.

There are fiddleheads in Alberta but patches tend to be few and far apart. They are nothing more than ostrich ferns, one of the most prolific ferns in North America, so prolific in fact they grow far outside what is considered their normal range, even as far away as places like Alberta and BC. Just don't confuse them with other ferns, you could get really sick.

Nice day out. Nice colored bear. Bear stew and a side of fiddleheads. Yummy.
Quite the haul of fiddleheads. Do you blanch them before freezing them or can them?
At $15 a pound for fiddleheads one pail full would pay for the bear tag, the bullet and the hide tanning.

About 12 yrs old. Fluted xcr and I had the bolt fluted and drilled out. Ugly to shoot but nice to pack and I know it will do the job when I tell it to.
