What of accuracy are you getting with you 512, say 50 yds?

[QUOTE=sns2;3789499]Not what he told me the last time we spoke.[/QUOTE

The last time I got to hang out with Jacob was during the Gamo Squirrel Master Classic. At the NRA show, we talked about something a bit bigger and more dangerous: gators. Specifically, the ammo Jacob and Troy Landry use to kill gators. I can't be the only one surprised that nearly all the gator hunters on "Swamp People" use rimfires to dispatch the toothy reptiles. But according to Troy, the .22 Mag. is the best gator "headache medicine" a swamper can get.

"It's the perfect gun," he said. "It's strong enough, but it's not overkill. The bullet stays in the gator and doesn't pass thru to my boat."

I thought they used 22lr, but that was just an assumption. I just love that show.

Agreed 100%. CZ is the best in rimfire for that price range

K Thanks guys I think I will have to give the CZ a go. One way to look at it I should have it the rest of my life if it shoots well. I had the good old Norinco doing a 6 inch circle at 35 yards yesterday lol No wonder it takes so many bullets to kill a pile of beaver

Good choice. Just a dozen more beaver is all. Sounds like you missed that much anyway.

I’ve done a fair bit of hunting but out on the boat after the ice is off has to be a favourite of mine. Good luck.

The wife is shooting the .22 wmr. We have had excellent luck with most of the other ammo we have tried in that rifle but the choot em's were hard. The lighter CCI 30? gr. with the little gopher on the label are working fine.

As for the .17 HMR I am using V-Max. They are accurate and expand very well.
CCI's are a bit more accurate but not quite as frangible as the Hornady. I got a smoking deal on the Hornady stuff and will shot it till it is gone, then maybe change up. As for TNT rounds my rifle does not like them at all. Of all the brands I have tried the CCI and Hornady are by far the best choices for my rifle

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Default 22 mag

I have owned a .22 mag in Marlin model 822 for about 15 years. I have it topped with a 4x Leupold RF special. Its a great gun and wickedly accurate. My son. "uses / borrows" it all the time and he loves it.
The only crappy thing is the design of the magazine. Its nasty on long ATV rides when you sling it across your back.
