Smile Bench Swager

Does any body know where to get a good quality swager for a decent price . Have used the hammer & anvil but want to invest in a swager this year . Halfords only sells the Chinese made one & I'm not going near that . Any info would be appreciated . Thanks

ive been using a chinese made bench swagger from halfords for the last 8 years, have never got a complaint from any of the coyotes that got to see the very pretty crimps on my snares ! save your money and spend it on quality snare components , especially cable , then locks . JMO

Dambeaver has Japanese swagers as well. I'm happy with mine.

I picked mine up from princess auto. Good price. It is probably Chinese. But for the 100 snares I build a year this works well. If I amp up production I'll look into getting a good quality one. But for the 100 a year I don't think I'll wear it out.

I think I paid $110.00 in Calgary at the north store.
Called 3 in 1 bench mount bolt cutter. Has 3 heads one is for swaging. Like I said I'd be getting the top quality one if I were to do more. This swaged is cheap and I believe is cast. So it will wear easily. I can honestly say I will have to get another one in my life time but this works for now. Also I have to make a few swages on same ferrule to ensure the crush. I maybe over crushing but it helps me sleep at night.

I had the wife buy me the princess auto one for my bday and not happy. I make 200-300 snares a year and the amount of time to crimp and recrimp sucks, plus if you are not careful, it will crush and split double ferrules. I get the one that marty sells this year and if you need to see what it does, watch his snare making video, crimped in seconds. Its twice the price but should last forever.
