There's a TON in the 1/2 sub moa (ish) category. Ain't overly hard to make an accurate gun anymore with modern tooling.

Accurate shooters on the other hand....

Over the counter and inexpensive I would vote my Tikka T3 stainless 6.5x55. When I first bought it I did the shoot one clean one for 10 shots then shot a .192” 3 shot group with Factory Nosler 140 accubonds.

My most accurate over the counter is a rem 700LR in 300 wm. Have had great accuracy with savage as well. Most factory guns will shoot better than the guy shooting it.. My factory HR handie in 22-250 shot a better group at 500 yds than a buddy's christiansens arms in 6.5 creed. But I don't think my rifle is actually more accurate.....

A better question may be which rifles are not extremely accurate out of the box. So many are good nowadays. If I had to hazard a guess on which one to bet on, I'd likely go with Tikka. Good barrel. Good trigger. Good accuracy.

I bought a 1 1/2 lb trigger spring for my Tikka Varminter. Amazing trigger now.
I get lucky about every second five shot group, and get a one holer with factory Lapua ammo. Am over the moon with this rifle. Had a friend that is new to shooting try it. One hole five shot group first try, man talk about a smile on his face. LOL

I bought a used Savage model 114 classic to have as a spare rifle, and man does that thing shoot awesome groups. 270 win. with 140 grain Nosler accubonds.

Any decent out of the box rifle that is properly set up can shoot moa. and I’d have to say most rifles will out shoot the shooter! A good set up and lots of practice at the range makes for an accurate rifle.. m2cs

Having owned over a dozen Cooper rifles, all but one easily surpassed the accuracy guarantee of 1/2moa. The remaining rifle was rebarreled by Cooper under warranty.

CZ, Sako, Savage, Tikka, Walther, Remington, Winchester, Cooey, Sabbatti, Anschultz, Ruger, Norinco.

These are rifles I have owned or do own are there any better ones over the other?? not really.

The only reason Browning, Weatherby etc. are not on the list is because they either don't fit me well or I have never owned one. Would they out shoot or be contenders with my list? I am sure they would.

Most rifles nowadays will shot sub moa, are there duds out there you bet.But most accuracy issues can be traced back to the shooter much more often then to the rifle.

I had a CIL .243 Parker Hale could not hit a sheet of ply wood at 100 yds...It got me into reloading and turned out to be a .5 moa gun, after some TLC I even won a couple competitions with it but it never did feed the second round reliably. Was it a accurate rifle you bet, was it reliable...not a chance. was it a bad rifle or brand NO just had a poor fitting mag.

So buy a rifle that fits you and accuracy can be worked on.

My most accurate “out of the box” if you can call it that is my Cooper Excalibur in 280 rem. I can not touch that gun for 6 months pull it out take three shots and there’s one ragged hole 2” high at 100yds! Puts a smile on my face everytime.

I have found this to be true. I am sure there are others that are great as well but new Tikka's just seem to shoot and they have buttery smooth actions.
