Default Streamer rod for trout

I am just wondering what rod (model and wt) people use as a streamer rod for fishing trout in rivers. I am looking for something that will handle size 4 and 6 cone head streamers. Also, what type of line do you use?

I've just used a 9ft, 6wt and a ten foot Type V sinktip for the past 25 years. Never needed anything bigger for size 2 flies.

Good suggestions, I have just been using Rio Gold on my 6wt, so I am thinking that probably has more to do with my struggles than the rod.

9 ft rod: 6 or 7 wt. line

The fastest full sinking line you can buy

Five foot leader.

Brooks method of bonk bonk bonk on the bottom.

9'6 - 10', 7wt. Handles big double streamer rigs, and sink tips with ease.

I picked up a Pieroway X-Series 9'3" 7wt on Friday. I took it out to Muir last night and it cast streamers very well...unfortunately I didn't get to see how well it fights fish...
