Default HECS Stealth Clothing

Down in Vegas at the NFR and came across a rep promoting and selling
HECS hunting wear. The claim is that this clothing is made with a carbon mess that blocks electromagnet energy released by our body. Have looked up some of the revues online and found mixed responses. Has anyone on here tried this product and if so what are your thoughts.

Magical long underwear that makes you undetectable to all game? Sure seems like another snake oil item that gets dumped on the hunting community.

Here is a question for you...
Do ungulates even have the necessary physiological receptors available in order to detect electromagnetic fields?

I haven't seen a lot of these receptors on the deer I hunt

Why do I want to block the release of electro magnetic energy from my body? I don't hunt at night if that matters.

I think my stretchy Coscto jeans do a good job of keeping stuff in

I knew my problem this season went beyond getting winded and/or missing shots - it was my god damn electromagnetic field that was getting me busted!

Watched a few hunting shows where they wear that clothing. They literally walk up to animals within bow range thru an open field. The deer see them but don't perceive them as a threat.

I hunt 25ft up tree's so i have no need for it but from seeing them use it, its hard not to believe to be honest.

Agreed...….damn animals just stand there and look at the hunters literally walk up to them. I tried hard to look for a high wire fence thinking they were fenced animals but looked legit to me...…!

Yeah exactly and they showed about 20 examples in a 30 minute episode. Some of the deer get a little wary but then just continue on grazing. It would be cool to try, but i don't want to fork out the cash for it.

Default Hecs

I’d have to try it first before I’d drop that kind of cash. Better stick with old time hunting tactics, and play the wind.

I concur that ungulates lack a lateral line and even if they had one, it would be for super close up. I can't explain their getting as close as they do but I know deer aren't sensing their electric field from 50 yards away.

I never bought into the scent elimination thing, sprays, clothing with charcoal, scent control...….at least not for my style of hunting, which requires a lot of walking, therefore sweating, especially pursuing Elk with the bow. I play the wind at all times when I'm trying to get myself into position.....

BUT, this has me intrigued...….I believe animals have a sixth survival sense and can pick up things that I cant explain. Otherwise, how can dogs detect when a person is about to have a seizure or a heart attack....

The Banjo minnow sucked me in. Never caught a single fish on those lures.

As for the hex suit, seems like a nice gimmick for people with a lot of money and looking for something to blow it on, kind of like all the first lite clothing I just bought lol. I knew better then to get sucked into “designer camo” but I did it anyways.

Smell is a deer's dominant sensory receptor. Better than a dogs. Put on this HECS stuff and some scent elimination gimmick clothing and see if you disappear from dogs

Dogs use smell to detect seizures. Your body gives off an odor before and during that the dog is able to pick up on.

As for the HECS... I just can't see it. Or see how much of a difference it could make. There are far more important things to worry about like the wind and my movement. My electromagnetic field isn't very high on the list.

Everytime this subject comes up I laugh. It's not magic and the physics equations have been derived and well known since the 1850s. You can calculate the electrical or magnetic field a human gives off in air pretty easily.. and it's in the order of millimeters. So yes humans give off a field but since air is an insulator it's reach is so small that it's irrelevant for land animals (whether they can even sense it or not is another topic..).

Where it becomes more significant and where HECS best claims are, is in aquatic environments. Salt water is infinitely more conductive than air and some of the animals living in that environment have been proven to have special receptors to pick up on these fields.

So unless your a spear fisherman, save your money.

Okay, think I'll just buy another gun that I don't need.....
