Default CPDC ..... Trial is trying ....

I am surprised this club is attempting a trial the last time
I spoke to the pres . he said they were on their last leg
and likely would fold . This will likely be as disorganised
a farce as that Can. Brit trial . The highlight of the day
was the chili . This is just a social gathering for a few
dog coocoos , dont miss it .

This will be a great run event. I have been up to date with the organizers and although we are a little short on gunners there has been a bunch of volunteers who are telling us they are bringing guns just in case. Maybe you should try volunteering if you thought there was such a problem. Your imput would have been appreciated. I know I will be toting my 12 gauge to help out and have been asked to Field Marshall if needed.

Ray maybe you are a little mad because that "dog" of yours bit a horse and you didnt place. Or maybe its because he couldnt keep up to some of those Brittanys and GSP's. Who knows why you have a stick up your arse.

No dog CooCoos here just alot of great people and a BBQ to follow on saturday night.

Whether you have a dog in or not hope to see everyone there and the best of luck.

Default Dog Trial etc.

First of all , my pup was the only pup to find a bird
and if that horse hadnt said something nasty
about his beard there wouldnt have been a problem .

The horses were out of control it was like a bloody rodeo out there .You couldnt see anything , and when you went out near the course
which wasnt really marked , you ended up being in the middle of it .

The one thing about youth is that one is still living with
ones illusions . The CPDC is a Brittany club and if your not running one
your dog sucks . There are other breeds there but they are not in the clique .
And I ll have you know this Grif ran his brace mate Brit ( smokin something ) into the ground . Again the chili was very good ....

This is just a training execise for Kim and Harvy ....

I dont see any other dogs or trainers of any note in there

Ray I am not going to fight you about this. There are alot of britts in there because they are so popular but there are also alot of Shorthairs, the Viszla population is on a steady increase and there are more and more setters every year. Go over to the trial ground and you see even more setters and english pointers. I believe Ryan McNally will be there with his Wirehairs as well. Maybe there is a reason there is no griffs, like they cant cut it. Funny how all the Brittany people come over a gawk at our shorthairs and we do the same with their britts. We are all a tight knit group more like a family. We know each others dogs like they were out own, have watched them since they were a 8 week old pup and am glad you dont want to be apart of it.

As for the horses I heard about that test even though I wasnt there and it wasnt a rodeo. Yes at the start it can get a little confusing but once you get going your fine. Funny how everyone else could tell where the grounds were and maybe if you got out to more than 1 event you would know how a Gaited horse moved and it wouldnt seem too scary for you. Try coming out to a couple more this year before you start passing judgment! Pretty soon you will be b!tchin that the GSP club has too many shorthairs in it and not enough other breeds!

Default Oh-oh...

Like I said on a former post .....I think you are absolutely right

YOU werent there and so you dont know , and likely had you been there

you still wouldnt know ...

I was runin pointing dogs when you were still crappin yellow.

There is a reason ( now pay attention ) that the Calgary Pointing

Dog Club has had so many political set backs because dog owners

when young have an obstinate simpleminded attitude about their dogs

and training . This attitude stunts their emotional and mental development

and this is why these clubs are full of the pompous , know-it-all ,

asses that they seem to attract .

Now I think it has been alluded to many times on this forum
and other forums that your closed minded attitude is not in keeping
with the general nature of the Outdoorsman and what he stands for .

I simply said that the last trial I was at here was poorly run .
It was an open trial , you pay your money and take your chances .
I shouldnt have to join the club or help out . The brit club said they were
having a trial and these were the rules . They should have included
the fact it could turn into a gong show at any time and no one would have been surprised .
I just want to apologise , if the inference was made that you
were pompous , you are a little to young for that attribute ,
but I must say you appear to be well on your way .

Ryan, I recognize a bunch of the dogs and quite a few of the handlers I see have some new dogs from a couple of years ago. There are also some new names that I do not recognize which is nice to see. By the way, this is the GSP Club trial and test. Calgary will run their trial the next weekend and their test the weekend following that. Then Edmonton will finish off the season with a trial the last weekend of May.

Winch, sorry to hear your experience at the trial was not a good one. Was this last weekend? I have a much different view of the organized dog world than you do and I know that some of the opinions you have expressed in this little tirade are not based in fact, but wish you the best with your dog.

Sorry Scott I didnt know. My inbox is full of emails from entries and I thought this was the one I clicked.

Winch if you were running dogs for so long then why were you coming to me crying to help you train your griff? You would suck any bit of information out of me I was willing to give ya!

My assumtions are right you are the first wo whine, ****, and moan but when it comes time to help out you are nowhere to be found. Try pitching in and helping maybe then it would be a "gong show"

If you want to call us names thats fine we go out and we all have a blast with our dogs and proving them against a standard and against each other. Its what we like to do.... show off and see who really does have the better dog.

Default On and On and on

Vin .... You are right to a certain degree , it was last year ,and it hasnt been a point of contention till this post.
and most of this is like fly fishin , You see that trout sittin there
and you cast and cast , switch flies and cast some more ,
then out the blue he takes it. It was just a slow day .
What can I say .

Ryan when I read that last post , I hear the swiss clock
in the distance , and you know what the little bird is saying
Thats Right C-- C-- .
I doubt that telling me where dog boxes might be purchased
constitutes a major break thru in training info . But hey what do I know .
I do know that if the guys on this forum have well trained dogs
it is in no small part to the valuable information you have imparted .
I know Rack , Cohod and myself will testify to that . In fact there isnt
a day that I dont thank the creater for having our paths cross.

No wait ...I think IT... was those irrational , unfounded, factless
statements that got you turfed off the Versatile Gun Dog site .

Before Lil shuts this down , I just want to say that I think these little club trials are perfect for the beginner and new dog owner . The unfortunate
part is that there is always some show off know it all there , who spend his
entire waking hours with his head shoved up his dogs behind . Struts around
with his ribbon like he's the second coming .
Always wear your rubber boots cause it can get a little deep and thick out there . The mud I mean , what else could I mean ?

Is there a a dog trial somewhere in the Calgary area this weekend?
If so i may be interested in coming out
Or was the point of this thread just more useless name calling and dog bashing?

I think I put this on another post somewhere, but the trial this weekend is by Irricana, next weekend is south of Cochrane and two weeks after that is out by Buck Lake. PM if anyone wants details on the exact location to come out and watch.

As far as entering - the Calgary trial next weekend appears to be full because I have a dog on standby on the waiting list.

Default Only in your head ...

First of all any body getting your advice , that means asking you something , not the free BS you hand out on these boards , only happens in your melon .
Secondly , no one is bashing the club , only stating facts ,

And once again you are making comments about something you know nothing about . You werent at that trial ,and anything you heard likely came from somebody that lacks experience in these matters . There were a couple of people there who were very young , I attribute their selection of dogs to that fact ,but they would hardly be in a position to decide what is a good
and well organised trial .

Thirdly your references to what is Gay , though likely you speak with some authority on the matter are not well taken on this forum .
It is politically incorrect , slanderous , and again a comment with not a lot of thought behind it .

There will be a AO board member at that trial and video taping
certain performances to post on the forum ....

In other words Big Brother will be watching .....

Hey Folks,

I hope this post in no way prevents those who are interested from participating with their dogs or going to watch or help at your local field trial of field test events.
These events are lots of fun and by attending an event you can see if you think that trials may be a fun event for you and your dog. You will almost always meet some pretty good folks and learn some about dogs as most have no problem talking for some time of the subject.
You may not always agree with what the judges think on any given day, I know I sure have not. The thing to remember is that, what you are getting is that judges opinion of the dogs run under him that day. Dog have good and bad days just like us so try not to take any of it personally.
I myself quite enjoy the trials and love hanging around afterwards for the presenting of the ribbons and the dinners that many clubs host during the trial.
It is a great place to listen to the stories from that day and of days gone by.
You will be amazed at how much you can pick up from hanging around.

Nuff said, perhaps get out and attend a trial or test and see if they are for you and your dog. Most of all have a good time.

Mav........

Thumbs up Been Away

Hey Ryan you are not even willing to poke a bit of fun at Dakota's Recent success what's with that.

As for the original question Tyler owened by the Curtis family is a super little Britt nice looking Dog as a matter of fact Tyler sold me on the breed. I met Paige not that long ago I think Red Deer dog show also very nice I have no idea how either will perform but Curtis's produce some great dogs like Willow and Tundra amoung others had a breeding not taken I would be a owner of a Red Willow brittany but alas I found the right dog half way accross the country.

Ray I don't blame you if you were upset the beareded wonder deserves the best!!!

Good Luck to Diego !!!! unless luck is not needed then ah well ah God speed Diego

Got my english pointer pup with 2 first places back to back. the third trial he was lost at 13 minutes stupid dog there is a nice article on his dad, if anyone is interested in reading. http://www.shotgunfan.com/news_article.asp?id=2859
By the way, with all these replies and attacks on ryan and other members, come on guys lets behave and be civilized.
