Default Older vs new binoculars ??

In the later 80s I did some trading with a fellow and I ended up with a pair of Ziess 8x42 Dialyt binoculars .They have been a good binocular but wondering if something like the Vortex uhd, ziess conquest , etc would be worth the money ?

Hard to beat what you already have.

depends on your budget and where you're hunting, i just picked up some 12x50 viper HD's and they are great for price.

I know a fellow that has an older pair of ZEISS, he was able to send them back and get them re sealed and a good once over. That money (if any) would be much better spent than any of the glass you had mentioned.

It’s probably a $3-5k touch to get better than what you currently have.

I have an older pair of Leupolds probably from the seventies
They are great glasses but I always think I could find something lighter.
So i go look and the newer glasses are not that much lighter so I still enjoy what I have got. Plus the Leupolds are 9X 35 and do not bother my old eyes

I have the 10x42 Viper HD's and really like them for the price as well. Was comparing them to my buddies Zeiss this weekend and it was pretty tough to see where the value in paying 100% more for the Zeiss was and he was the one that said it.
