Default 180 Grain 303 Brit for Moose Medicine???

Hi All

Any comments on this. I'm using a bubba'd No4 Mk1*. I've been using it with 150 grain factory loads on deer ( or at least attempting too ) Can anybody relate any experience with 180 grain loads on Moose.

Obviously I'll I'll work on good shot placement and keep the range to less than 200 yards. But Beggars can't be Choosers as I've been told so that's what I'm using this year....

Thanks
Robert

My father in law took a moose with a .243 last year, as with most guns placement is everything, if you keep it to under 200 yards and practice your 150gr is probably ok too.

I would load up some 150gr Barnes TSX and call it good for everything.

I don't think anyone could count how many Moose have been killed with the 303 British and 180 gr. factory loads in Canada,,, the numbers would be stunning

I have lost count the number of moose I have seen go down with a 180 grain .311 bullet from an Enfield!
it's a fine combination, an nobody can argue with that....

Thank Guys

I was pretty confident but wanted to get some real world feed back from actual folk who have seen this combo used or used it themselves.

Now the next mission will be to find some time to get to the range and dial the old enfield in. May have to sweet talk to wife and bribe the kids, all though my 6 and 4 year old would likely love that sort of thing.....

Don't forget ear protection for the little gaffers if they go with you, we never used it when I was young and now, I can only hear 1/2 of what BB416 types!!!

Probably killed more moose, than any other caliber. 30/06 of the Canadian woods.

I've seen and heard of lots of people using 303 British, 180 gr. on moose. Took one myself. Factory Winchester Super X, 180 gr pointed softpoints. Works like a charm. Tuck one in behind the front shoulder and fire up the bbq.
