That was crazy. Poor gal was from Australia. That happened to her about a mile west of where the looters are. Affluent are around the lakes there.
The cop was placed on hi by the black mayor as the new generation even tho he could not pass the standard exams to become a cop. She even threw a great media party for him once he "graduated" police training.
No other veterans would ride with him he was so clueless, so that night he was in the passenger seat with another rookie driving.
This gal had called in screaming noises from behind her garage, a rape going on she thought. She called the cops and these two showed up. She ran out when she saw the car to point the cops in the right direction. She came to the drivers window, tapped on the closed window, at which point this cop shot her thru the window, right across the drivers face. The driver has permanent hearing loss from it. Anyway, shot her immediately, just that quick. Dead on the spot.
Happened about 2 miles from my primary, my nephew was on duty that night. Was next on the scene.

Yes and the rookie cop who did the shooting (Moor) was convicted and sentenced to 12.5 years for his unlawful shooting. The girl who was shot (Justine) was ruled unlawful death so the city employing the shooter was required by settlement to pay her family 22 million dollars.

The mayor personally had the rules changed to let this guy thru the system. She in my opinion has personal culpability. Then again the mayor was black and she was forward thinking enough to tout the police chief she hired overseeing this disaster. Why we taxpayers payed that fine is another crime.

It's known as Affirmative Action. Some people claim that was the only way Barry Soetoro, sorry, Barack Obama , could have become president.

So it's okay for black officers to shoot white women because white women haven't been marginalized?...gotcha…..

You better put some ice on that angry boner you've got there. Anything over 4 hrs and you should go in eh?
Anyways you really took what I said and twisted it. Let me try that. So hal53 are you suggesting that white people should riot over this?
As white albertans we cant even begin to understand the anger. But theres lots of it and its not going to get better until we all just agree to support each other. Race baiting like this whole thread is isnt very productive.

This incident occurred in 2017 and people's memories are short, while the demonstrations weren't on the same level as what is occurring now, there were demonstrations and protests when this happened. The only similarity is that the Minneapolis Police Department has a long history of entrenched problems.
Noor didn't kill Justine Ruszczyk Damond because she was white, he was obviously incompetent in his position and should never have been an officer if was that easily "startled". Not even remotely close to Chauvin, who kept his knee on Floyd's neck, long enough that he had time to think about his actions, he chose to suffocate Floyd instead.
It's amazing how people are attempting to minimize the issues in the US with racial issues and the tenuous relationship between law enforcement and people of color. What is happening in the US is a cumulation of decades-long discrimination that's come to a boiling point. Add in divisive politics and media, along with the recent COVID lockdown, and this is the result.

But did chauvin kill Floyd because he is a racist? Has that been determined to be a fact at this juncture or are we all assuming? It’s possible Chauvin was going to kill any perp that day that he had to subdue...

Exactly! We know that he killed Floyd, but it hasn't been determined why he killed him. It may have had nothing to do with race.

Do you think racism is a problem? Are you ok with racism? Or are you just going to undermine it because you’ve never had to deal with it?

Racism is a problem but unlike some folks, it isn’t my first thought every time there is a black and white altercation. Everything isnt race motivated. The media sure makes it a race thing every time though...

Is it discrimination? Did the cop intentionally kill Floyd because he was black?
What EVERYONE avoids is crime stats. Take a serious look at crime stats, look at who is committing crimes.
If you go out jogging one day and se dozens of different dogs but get bit by a collie one day. Then the next day you go jogging and pass dozens of different dogs but get bit by a different collie. Then the next day you go out jogging and pass dozens of different dogs but get bit by yet a different collie. Then the next day you go out jogging and pass dozens of different dogs but get bit by another collie. Even though there are thousands of friendly collies, you’re going to start associating collie’s with getting bit even though you know not every collie will bite. So when a collie comes running at you, you might brace for a bite even though it’s just going to bark. Can you understand the analogy?

Just wondering...would you call it a racist event if
black looters beat a white store owner to death?]

Yeah sure whatever. When I saw the video where Floyd was subdued wrongly, I didn’t see colour. The only colour I saw was red and I thought it was disgusting.
Now with that said, he served 5 years due to a plea deal where he committed an armed home invasion. Now with this go around he tried to pass off a counterfeit bill. No matter what colour you are, life is less risky if you don’t engage in criminal activity. Just saying there sport...
I’d like to hear from the folks who’s home he invaded armed in the middle of the night. I wonder what terror they went through? He’s a career criminal by the sounds of it. But im sure white people drove him to this kind of life.. (insert eye roll emoji here)

You are really stretching it bud. And you assumed others race. Well now ain't that a touch hypocritical. Get off your high horse, tone down and discuss like a rational human not a crazed SJW. A better example would have been to say dogs that grew up with no father around bite more... And btw facts don't even care about feelings or race.

Finally, something we can agree on.
OT-Racism needs to be stamped out, hard. Unfortunately, solutions espoused by the progressives sound great...when discussed in a classroom setting.
