Default Are Elk bugling yet anywhere?

I am heading out today for 12 days for archery elk toward grande prairie area and just curious how if there is any elk rut activity noticed anywhere in Alberta?

Thanks

Buddy of mine has a video from his spotter of a very young bull running around the field responding to calls. That’s north of gp

Got back from scouting up in that area on Sunday. Lots of sign never seen much for fresh rubs or scrapes though. Last year they were calling hard from September 11-16. Buddy arrowed a huge 5x5 on the 12th morning, came in screaming. Then it poured rain for the rifle opener for days. Good luck!

Live right in the saddle hills... haven't heard any yet but I have a late season cow tag so I haven't been out scouting or calling much.

Very light on fresh rubs this year. Seen a few on cam that appear to be bugling. Call shy, wolf shy elk dont bugle much and they dont bugle very loud. The rut will happen the same time regardless of what we see or here just doenst seem to ge as intense some times. Dont drive past all the elk to hunt in Grande Prairie. No guff!

Going hard in the saddle hills is what I heard yesterday!

Herd bulls screaming everywhere with these cool mornings. Biologist told me that the smoke is fooling them into thinking the days are shorter and it’s going to be a very early Rut. He figures they’ll be all done before rifle even opens this year !!!

Had a few bulls bugling on the weekend. Great sound to hear. Now to find them again when the season opens! Going deep for the opener!

Just got back from GP seen lots of bulls on cams . Very call shy . It’s been to warm . We had only one below freezing night . And the mosquitoes eat us alive . Been going same time for the late 5 years and that’s a first . I think a little bit of cold wouldn’t hurt the rutting activity.

I was extremely satisfied with my 10 days hunt up north of Grande Prairie. I was alone and had too much relaxing and peaceful time. I didn't get any big game but saw a lot of it. 24 moose in all and some of them may be repeat moose. 1 bull elk 400 yards away all by himself. 30-40 deer. 7 black bears and about 20 grouse. I manage to get some grouse and that was it.

All the time I was remembering my Creator and enjoying His beautiful creations and wondering about the ones that are still unknown to mankind.

God Willing, I will be heading out again on 15th of Sep for another 10 days. God works in mysterious ways.......

Ninja, looks like you had a great hunt in a good honey hole area. Enjoy your next hunt.

That's awesome. That's a very different mix than what I see in saddle hills. Hopefully the weather will cooperate next time. I got mildly hypothermic last night hunting. This rain up here has to quit. 2 days of summer this year.

Head south. Better hunting the closer to Montana you are
