If there's such a thing as reincarnation, Blair was a gung-ho Nazi in a previous life.

Clearly we are heading towards an authoritarian state. The disarmament of the civilian population, by any means or subterfuge, will be the point of no easy return, unfortunately. And that point in time is fast approaching.

I remember hearing some conservative politician, during or before the last federal campaign, that the next conservative majority government will make sure to address the gun ownership issue once and for all, by making it impossible for future governments to change the laws anymore. That got me thinking at the time: ‘A canadian version of the second amendment to the constitution?!?’ Wouldn’t that be sweet!

CSSA's take on things at the moment. THe best thing we can do now is a letter campaign on the Libs, NDP and Bloc, e-mails won't cut it, needs a piece of paper in their face. These are just a few examples of subjects;

It’s fitting that Justin Trudeau delivered Public Safety Minister Bill Blair’s Mandate Letter on Friday, December 13th. [i]

It’s bad luck for gun owners, and bad luck for anyone who believes in evidence-based policy on firearms.

“We are committed to evidence-based decision-making that takes into consideration the impacts of policies on all Canadians and fully defends the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”

If Trudeau's so-called commitment “to evidence-based decision-making” was true, pigs would fly and Ottawa would be an airport. Trudeau would no longer be Prime Minister because of “Blackface” and Alberta would have already left Confederation.

But none of that will happen today.

Instead of focusing on the opioid crisis that’s claimed almost 14,000 lives since Trudeau was elected in 2015, his priority for Bill Blair is to take away guns from federally-licensed, RCMP-vetted Canadians.

Opioids are a massive threat to public safety, yet the Trudeau government isn’t lifting a finger to address this clear and present danger to Canadians. [ii]

Why not?

Probably for the same reason the Trudeau government isn’t lifting a finger to address the 443,000 people who are prohibited from owning firearms yet reoffend almost daily. [iii]

It takes time, effort and resources to tackle such mundane but serious issues, and it lacks the critical requirement for any Liberal firearms initiative: virtue-signalling.

Banning “scary-looking” guns from people vetted daily by our national police force somehow delivers that “critical” requirement that taking real action to save lives does not.

All of Trudeau’s virtue-signalling will not and cannot stop the gang shootings in Toronto nor will it stop repeat violent offenders, like the 41 people arrested and charged for violating their Firearm Prohibition Orders in November alone, from breaking the law and hurting innocent people. [iv]

In Trudeau-Land , so long as the prime minister gets his virtue-signalling press release delivered to the world all will be well, even if the violence plaguing Toronto continues unabated.

What continues to baffle us here at the CSSA is why nobody cares that Trudeau 2.0 isn’t lifting a finger to stop the real public safety threats Canadians face every day.

Why don’t Canadians care that the government is far more committed to pandering to activists who couldn't care less about saving lives? Why is Trudeau so preoccupied with taking away “scary-looking guns” from federally-licensed, RCMP-vetted Canadians instead of doing the hard work required to end the gang violence plaguing our cities?

MP Glen Motz'z petition E2341, asking for something approaching proper parliamentary procedure in this country, instead of rule by decree. This one is now far more important than the C71 petitions. It represents a lot more than firearms.

CCFR has challenged Doctors Against Guns to a debate, with a modferator and all funds collected, donated to a charity, will they accept the challenge?

Pretty much the expected response from Doctors Against Guns. CCFR wasn't particularly nice about them over the time of their existence, so the response is somewhat valid.

The buyback is over in New Zealand, and it was a miserable failure. Only about 1/3 of the prohibited firearms were turned in.

If Trudeau is giving Provinces the power to restrict and ban handguns, wouldn’t that work the other way allowing Provinces to allow those properly trained and vetted to wilderness carry lets say for example?

There he goes, creating even more division between the provinces and the federal government. How many more provinces will be talking separation, before he is done?

CCFR did issue a call to action last week, imploring gun owners to actually write a letter to Ottawa. People will have the time to do this over the next 10 days or so.
Make sure your family writes, one family with two or three or four letters is way better than just one.
They provide one example, keep it short and be nice about it. There are enough issues without rants being sent in. Don't forget about Don Plett's speech in the Senate if you need inspiration, he nailed it.

I haven't read this yet, but, Mr Young got the goods on what the Minister of Phony Propaganda has been spouting concerning straw purchases, from the gov't, and I expect as usual, it will refute most of what the MoPP is blathering about.

Aussie police getting semi auto rifles now, maybe that scores as a fail on their gun laws?

Funny how they can lose guns just like the RCMP and others?

Default Who doesn't have 15 minutes?

I just mailed (no stamp required) my letters to the Prime Minister, Minister Bill Blair and my MP.
Anyone on this forum who hasn't yet, get at it.

Also just renewed my memberships with CSSA, CFFR and the NFA. Sitting back and griping, or ranting on social media won't protect our sports from our mis-guided politicians.

Makes a person wonder why we bother to have police and courts, there was apparently also another one in Ontario this wk, the prosecutor didn't show up, the judge kicked the charges altogether. Certainly some fodder to hit the Libs with in your letters;

https://www.theguardian.pe.ca/news/l...YMcPpVVgoAAqb0

The link on the other one is to The Star, but. need to buy a subscription to read the whole thing, gist of it is, fella was in jail for quite a bit, 89 charges, drugs and guns.

Dennis Young and what the RCMP does not know about crime guns;

https://dennisryoung.ca/2020/01/14/a...-QT-X8PiqYeRM0

And apparently petition E2341 has finally surpassed the C71 petition to take 2nd place. IF just the RPAL holders all sign it, it can take #1 easily, which would be over double what it is now, as there are 200,000 plus of those. Anything in this whole thread can be shared via e-mail, Instagram, FB, Reddit or whatever. The gov't knows where you and who you are anyway by your licence, sharing this stuff is the purpose it is up here for.

Myself and the boss just signed the petition. It was super easy and took about a minute to do. Now somewhere around 90,700 signatures. Come on guys, we need a lot more!
