Default 1998 Skidoo Mac 1 700 Triple

Does anyone know if these machines are reliable . If they are finicky or not . Will be used to pull sled for some trapping & ice fishing . I have a chance at requiring one but not sure on it . Any info appreciated , Thank You

It wouldn't be my first choice for a sled to get around on. That sled is designed for straight, flat surfaces like racing on a lake. It has a short track that won't do well in deep snow and I'm not into getting stuck and having to dig out. Those older models have terrible suspension too. The ROTAX motor is a good one but I've been told to avoid triples and stick with dual heads for mechanical purposes. If I was just bombing around fields it would be okay but there are better choices out there for breaking trail while out trapping IMO.

Plenty of sled threads out in the trapping forum. You could check on football as well. There would be more specific info on that particular sled. As mentioned I’d pass. If your wanting a trapping sled look for a skidoo tundra skandic or expedition or a Yamaha bravo or vk540. If I was looking for new, hands down a tundra lt!
