Default Best bullet to use for long range hunting with a lapua

I have the accubonds, ablr's, eldm's, eldx, and berger elites on hand to choose from.

Anyone have any real world experience with these?

Ive had great luck with the 250 accubonds out of a 338 rum

Eld x is supposed to be pretty good

Eld m is what gunwerks uses

Ablr "on paper" seems really good

Had good luck with the bergers on deer size game with a couple 6.5's

I have only killed 1 mule deer at 730 yards with a ELDX and wasn’t overly impressed with the way the bullet held together.

What did it do? Fragment or did it not expand as much as you would have hoped?

I’m honestly leaning towards the 285 gr eldms

I did give stinky a hard time last year about his shooting abilities but he get triple the amount of real world data with these bullets

If the grendel was able to work then a bullet twice as big should as well

It was a 200gr ELDX out of my 300wm. The largest piece I found was no bigger than 15 grains. In my limited experience with the eldx, I prefer accubonds for hunting.

Check this place out. Far more data and info in one place than you will ever gather on a thread.

My 338 Edge just got chambered. I am hoping to shoot the 285 ELD-M. From what I have researched it seems to do well on game. IF not I have a hundred Berger 300 gr to try as well. As Shorty recommended the 300 SMK is suppose to work great. Guys have had good results with the 250 gr Berger too.

Hey shorty what kind of results have you had?
What kind of animals were you shooting
How far
What angle were they at impact? Where did you hit?
Big one is how far did they go?

Killed a few things with my 338RUM and Berger 250GR hunters.
They worked just as advertised. Dead things when you hit them.
Shot fantastic in my gun.
Did not loose any meat, Did not blow up. Just went in 5-6 inches and fragmented and dropped them dead.
I like them.
