Default I'm new to bow hunting and am looking for tips

I just bought a Sequoia long bow with a 50# pull for a starter bow. I am looking for tips and info on longbow hunting. I plan on buying a black widow ironwood bow for hunting with but would like info on other bows or if there are any bow makers in my area(red deer alberta). Also i haven't bought any arrows yet(just shooting crap ones now) and would like tips/info on what i should be looking for( weight/tips/fletching). I can't shoot a compound to save my life thats why i'm going with longbow. thnx.

You might find some information here, www.peteward.com

A good local traditional shop {Calgary} is www.git-r-donearchery.com
Drop me an email if I can help out.

Pete

TylerL Did you pick this bow up a BPS, you sound like the person I was talking to Friday afternoon.

Cheers

I'm in the same boat as you Tyler. I'm ordering a custom longbow this week, never shot trad before but was successful in the past with a compound. I've been doing lots of research, there's tons of info out there if you google around.

Pete Wards site was great I got a lot of info off of there, and Gitrdone archery is supposed to be great.

Good luck in your search.
