I suspect that wholesale will have used up its share of this small market and will have to close down one of it's stores.

I hope so, you can never have to many outdoor stores IMO. Alberta and Edmonton particularly, is the mecca of anything outdoors. Look how many boat dealers, RV dealers, quad/sled shops, we have as well.

You would think the market would be getting saturated, but I have not seen to many outdoor anything shops closing up. Lots of money in our province, and lots of money, means lots of toys.

I was going through miracle mile in kallispel and saw cabelas along the stretch. It just opened up in february and I had to stop and I asked one of the sales associates if they were tring to get the jump on bass pro and he said bass pro would not come there because there wasn't enough population there to support it, ""He said because that's why they built a small cabelas. I said, "a small cabelas," and the store was the size of a football field. I easily walked out of there spending nearly $300.00. I was like a little kid in a candy store with a credit card. Scary.

We just don't have that kind of population base, or density ... Thank Gawd!

Mac
Wiki puts Albertas population @ 3.6 million Mac, and that's based on the 2011 census.

Just went through Sidney, Nebraska where Cabelas headquarters are. I thought it might be the largest, and found out I missed the one in Kansas city, which IS the largest. Regardless, Sidney put Edmonton one to shame.

Very cool.

Default Could change

When Bass Pro deal closes buying Cabelas you may see some changes in locations where they are close together. Supposed to be a done deal soon. People in small towns in the states where 2 are close are nervous.
