[QUOTE=elkhunter11;4072402]I want a bullet that performs in the worst situations that I may encounter. That means reaching the vitals even with shot angles that may not be idea, through heavy bone if required. And I never shoot past 500 yards at a big game animal, so I could care less how it performs at 600 yards or farther. I don't care if there is an exit hole or not, as long as the bullet causes a lot of damage to the vitals, and results in massive bleeding.[/QUOTE
X2 that's why I shoot barnes and lately it's been the lrx and push them as fast as I can.

I hunt with a 243, 25-06 or 270 depending or where and what I’m hunting.

I’ve use both H380 and superformance both with great results hopefully this spring I’ll get out and chronograph them.
Here’s the three 243 80gr GMX’s I recovered

great performance there for sure....should I go towards the heavier 90gr bullets? higher BC etc I use this rifle on everything so thinking a little heavier, solid bullet that opens up yet retains its mass is just a perfect bullet...6-284 whips them out a little faster than the .243....of course my rule is 5 under an inch at 100yards and I am happy...thoughts

I am loading 100 TTSX's in my son's 6.5X284 and they are fantastically accurate accuracy and velocity out to where you want to go with it.

If you can get them I’d shot em I could only get the 80gr and now have five or six boxes of them to reload. I’ve only shot moose and elk those three bullets were on the opposite side up against the hide. I’d be very curious to how the 90gr performs in your gun.

powder?
I use reloader 22...53gr...100gr Hornady pill...3375 fps...22inch barrel.
reloader 22 seems to be the ideal powder for this cartridge just wondering how it will be with 80-90gr gmx bullets?

Partitions, accubonds, SST’s, interlocks, ELDX, ballistic tips, core lokt, and power points have all killed game for me successfully. My bullet of choice these days is Accubonds.
The only bullet I con honestly say I was very disappointed in was when Winchester used to make the Fail safes.

I am using hybrid100V for them. Really sends them out there with excellent 200 yard accuracy

Respectfully disagree here. I've shot way too many with the 300, this year's less than a cupful wasted meat. 325 yds, blood out one hole, steam the other side, 8 steps then laid down to rest. Between the ribs on the way in, broke 2 on the way out.

Have a friend that killed almost everything with 30 caliber 180gr fail safes. Including Cape Buffalo.
