blazer vanes

im looking at putting blazer vanes on my arrows and am wondering if they are going to give better performance than the standard 4 inch vanes.

Im wondering if anyone has used the wraps in the first link, and if they work good? And how they go onto the arrows?typical wrap style or heat shrink style? Any help would be great

It really depends on the shooter, and the setup. If you're an average weekend shooter, you probably won't notice a huge difference, but if you're looking to tighten those 40m groups from 6" to 4", yeah, you could notice a difference. I found that my setup didn't like them whatsoever, and they shot worse than standard vanes. My buddy's 90m group tightened up from 12" to 8" with them.

The first link are standard wraps (adhesive backed vinyl) and the second link is for the shrink fletch (hot water shrink).

I have used both types of wraps (adhesive backed vinyl and shrink fletch)and pretty much every vane/feather type/size. As for plastic vanes I prefer the blazers because they are economically priced and do as good a job or better than a vane of larger size without the weight or drag of the larger vanes. Shrink Fletch is expensive. Arrow wraps can be expensive too. I make my own wraps for pennies. I use 3m adhesive backed vinyl that I purchased from nd graphics in Winnipeg......but I see they have an Edmonton and Calgary store too. It's the same vinyl used for commerically sold arrow wraps. The stuff comes in 15 inch rolls if I recall. Buy a few yards of a variety of colours and you will have a lifetime supply of wrap material. Use an office paper cutter for cutting the wraps into 7.5" X 1" strips (for carbon arrows) or 1.25 (for alum).

Vanes or feathers bond better to wraps than directly to the arrow.

for the vinyl wraps do they come with the vanes attached? Or seperate? kinda like the look of the white tiger pattern and cant find anything like that anywhere else lol. About how much does it cost to get into fletching your own arrows? Jig,fletch remover,etc?

The first link shows wraps and vanes that are separate from each other....you have to buy both the wraps and the vanes separately....the second link with the shrink fletch are wraps and vanes that are integral to each other.

I've got a few fletchers. For you I'd recommend an Arizona EZ Fletcher.......cost? Check them out maybe $40?...can't recall. Anyway the AZE fletches all 3 vanes (or feathers) at once....while so many of the clamp style jigs fletch one vane at a time. The fletcher is the most expensive item.....everything else cheap.....vanes, (quality feathers cost substantially more), wraps, glue, I don't have stripper....never found I needed one 'cause an exacto knife works for me (removing vanes/feathers/glue/wraps). White tiger blazers on solid white wraps.
