Hey, I have the BF all terrain on my truck and really enjoy them. I still have quite good traction in whatever but they dont hum or float on the highway like some of the others. After 50.000 km on them They are maybe 8 to 10 % worn. Good tires and I would buy them again. Good luck.

I've had them as well, however I like my new Mickey Thompson's just as much.
Drive a Dodge 3500 and have had great snow and mud performance in the bush.
Not too loud on the highway, as well.
Either tire is fine.

Funny thing is you wont here too much good about the BFG AT's from the oil patch.
Seems they do not hold up to well to the gravel.

What I've heard, and also what I've seen (2 trucks at work) the Toyo M-55's are a tough tire to beat, although it seems the 265-17's do hum a bit on the pavements, while the 16's on the other truck are whisper quiet.
On my old truck I ran Goodyear Workhorse, extra grips, they lasted very well, and served me well for any 4x4ing I got into, unfortunatly they do not come in 17"

I guess it depends how much highway vs. gravel you drive on, and if your into heavy duty 4x4ing or just the occasional snowy or mucky going in hunting season.

I went Yokohama Geolander AT-S' on my new truck, time will tell.

Default Cooper!!!

I agree with Dick on the M55's but they are FRIKIN expensive in the 17's and 18's!!!!! I use to run them on 16" rims....

I run the Cooper STT's, best tire I have run for all around traction, wear, noise....and really for an 33" tall tire on an 18" rim they are very resonably priced....

Father-in-law just put the Cooper ST's on his JEEP...very similar in style to the BF Goodrich AT...but IMO a WAY better tire......

My 2 cents.......

i just put a set of TSM super swampers on my jeep. there the exact same tire as the mickey thompsons only a third the price. got mine from detail tire in 33x12.5x15 for $215 a tire, buddy got his in a 31x10.5x15 for$199 a tire. tell him you are a member of the northern alberta 4 wheel drive assoc, they should give you a good deal. only problem is they are louder than heck on the pavement.

Default Goodyear Silent Armor

My buddy swears by his Yoko Geolander ATSs.

I've been very happy with the Goodyear Wrangler ATSs. And have about 10000 on a set of Goodyear Silent Armor, the replacement for the ATS. So far so good. Very nice tire, quiet (or maybe thats just the Cummins drowning them out) Decent traction and they 'clean' well.

Bridgestone Revo's...great on/off road, decent price, great reviews and I've found they last longer than any tire I've had in the past, including the BFG's.

My recommendation would be Tires. They will raise your truck's performance to a new Tier.

Most of the sets of BFG's I have sold I have had no problems with, anyone who carry's a lot of weight or runs a lot of gravel has seperation troubles. They are liked because they are fairly soft and don't get the greatest mileage. TOYO M55's last great not the greatest traction. YOKO Geolander ATS is a good all around tire, I have never had a problem with any of the sets I have sold. Tough to beat the Hankooks for price and all around practicality.

Good Luck

Generals have good traction, (copycat of the BFG's) but no problems with seperations. A little lower quality in that they are not always perfectly round, so if you are super picky you may have a slight vibration on the highway.

I use to have them tires on my old dodge dakota , and man did I always do lots of mud bogging and 4x4ing . Bought then in 99 and when I traded that truck in for my 05 the tires were still half deasent . Well worth there money.
